Melbourne Stars have confirmed the signing of England batter Sophia Dunkley via the WBBL’s unusual direct nomination pathway with Dunkley one of six players to commit to playing in the tournament without entering the overseas draft.Dunkley was not in the WBBL draft last Sunday where seven of the eight WBBL clubs only chose two overseas players, with each club allowed to take three, and six of them committing to signing the six players who had decided to bypass the draft.The inaugural WBBL overseas draft included a bespoke nomination clause that did not feature in the men’s BBL draft. Players unsure about entering the draft due to the uncertainty of where they might play or being overlooked entirely were given the option of directly nominating themselves to play for a WBBL club without being part of the draft. Às 15h, os associados adimplentes que possuem a partir de 60 pontos terão a venda liberada para todos os setores disponíveis. Mais tarde, às 17h, os sócios com pelo menos 40 pontos serão liberados para adquirir as entradas. Às 19h, os membros do Fiel Torcedor com 20 pontos poderão adquirir ingressos para o jogo contra o Cuiabá.

Na quarta-feira (28), a partir das 11h, todos os sócios torcedores do Timão poderão comprar os ingressos. Somente na quinta-feira (29), a partir das 15h, a venda será aberta para o público geral.

Bangladesh quick Tanzim Hasan has had to apologise to the BCB for a number of offensive Facebook posts from the past, which resurfaced after his international debut at the Asia Cup last week. Some of the posts date back to 2014, and BCB cricket operations chair Jalal Yunus said Tanzim was repentant about his posts and took full responsibility for them.At least four posts, which are now deleted, became viral shortly after his ODI debut against India on September 15, when he picked up wickets in a Bangladesh win.In a Facebook post from September 2022, he wrote in Bangla: “A working woman will not allow her husband or children to have their way with her; she loses her charm, destroys her family, her purdah, and the society.”In April this year, Tanzim, now 20, shared a photo, purported to be from 1954, of a burqa-clad woman travelling in a rickshaw, possibly with her family, and called it the “golden past”.In another post (date unknown), Tanzim wrote: “If you marry a girl who mingles freely in the university, you can’t get your child a demure mother.”In 2014, when he was 11 or so, Tanzim had shared a post about not celebrating Bangladesh’s Victory Day, which is on December 16.The posts were reshared in the last four days and became a topic of discussion on social media and television news and shows in Bangladesh. Women’s right activists, writers and journalists criticised Tanzim for his posts.Yunus, who is also a BCB director, said that he spoke to Tanzim about the matter on Monday.”The cricket operations committee spoke to Tanzim Sakib on behalf of the Bangladesh Cricket Board,” Yunus said at a press conference at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday. “The media committee also got in touch with him. We informed Tanzim about the discussions surrounding his Facebook posts. He said that he didn’t write those posts to hurt anyone. He wrote it for himself, not targeting anyone. If those posts have hurt anyone’s feelings, he said he was sorry.”He said that the posts he has made about women, he takes full responsibility. He said that he is not a misogynist. We have warned him that if he posts something on Facebook in the future, the BCB will monitor him.”We are keeping an eye on this area [his mindset]. We will monitor him. His family is concerned too. They didn’t expect such a situation. They are also sorry. We have given him a warning because he is a young player, and a World Cup is ahead. If he does something like this again, we will take action against him. If there’s a [psychological] problem, we will provide support.”

يستعد الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، لتنظيم حفل موسّع خلال شهر أغسطس المُقبل، يهدف إلى الإعلان الرسمي عن نتائج مشروع “توثيق تاريخ كرة القدم السعودية”، بحضور مسؤولي الأندية، وممثلي وزارة الرياضة، وعدد من الجهات ذات العلاقة.

وبحسب مصادر صحيفة “الرياضية”، فإن الحفل من المقترح أن يُقام عقب ختام بطولة كأس السوبر السعودي المقرر إقامتها في هونج كونج، وقبل انطلاق منافسات دوري روشن في 28 أغسطس، على أن يتضمن الإعلان عن عدد البطولات الرسمية لكل نادٍ، إلى جانب تقديم التقرير الكامل لمشروع التوثيق.

من جانبه، أوضح الاتحاد السعودي في رده على استفسارات “الرياضية”، أن التقرير الخاص بالمشروع قد أُنجز في الموعد المحدد، وتم اعتماده من الجمعية العمومية وتقديمه إلى الجهات المختصة، مؤكدًا أن المشروع لا يقتصر على إحصاء البطولات فقط، بل يشمل توثيقًا شاملًا لمسيرة كرة القدم السعودية، من مسابقات وبطولات وأسماء لاعبين، استنادًا إلى معايير دقيقة ومعتمدة.

كما أتم فريق التوثيق جميع المهام الموكلة إليه ورفع توصياته إلى الجمعية العمومية، التي وافقت بدورها على الاستمرار في إطلاق مبادرات ومشاريع توثيقية جديدة.

Matt Renshaw continued his good start to the summer with another half-century as Tasmania were left needing a big effort to avoid defeat in their Sheffield Shield clash with Queensland, after going to stumps on day three at 88 for 2 in pursuit of 432 for victory.After Queensland declared their second innings at 202 for 6 just after tea on Saturday, Tasmania lost both openers in the final session at Blundstone Arena. They faced a mammoth task on Sunday to either win the match or hold on for a final-day draw, after their batting crumbled in the first innings.On the back foot in the match since midway through Friday, Tasmania were bowled out for 150 early on day three when Beau Webster was caught at slip for 59.Queensland then opted against enforcing the follow-on, instead allowing Joe Burns to back up his first-innings century with 55 while Renshaw also struck 57. Ben McDermott (42 off 50) and Jimmy Peirson (28 from 25) both hit out before the former was taken superbly by Jordan Silk at cover from a full-blooded slog.Needing to bat through the best part of four sessions to save the match, Tasmania’s openers Caleb Jewell and Tim Ward offered some hope early.The pair got through 12 overs without loss before Jewell was superbly caught at slip by Burns on 22 when he edged a sharp ball from Jack Wildermuth. The ICC has given the Ahmedabad pitch used for the 2023 World Cup final between India and Australia an “average” rating. The ICC updated its list of pitch and outfield ratings this week, and surfaces for as many as eight World Cup matches across five Indian venues were rated average overall. This included five games involving hosts India.The World Cup final on November 19 was played on the same pitch that hosted the India-Pakistan fixture five weeks earlier, on the recommendation of the ICC’s pitch consultant Andy Atkinson, and the track received an average rating for both games. The surface at Eden Gardens used for the second semi-final between Australia and South Africa was also rated average. Eden Gardens received the most average ratings – five in all.The surface for the first semi-final, between India and New Zealand at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, was rated “good”. The track was in focus after the pitch was changed in the lead-up to the match from a fresh surface to a used track, but fears that it would be slow did not play out with the teams aggregating 724 runs, three centuries across both innings included, with just the lone wicket falling to spin.The ICC rates pitches, and separately outfields, for all international games as one of six ratings: very good, good, average, below average, poor, unfit.During the tournament, India head coach Rahul Dravid had expressed his disagreement with two “average” pitch ratings handed out for India’s league matches in Chennai (vs Australia) and Ahmedabad (vs Pakistan). “If you want to only see 350-run matches and rate only those pitches as good, then I disagree with that,” Dravid had said before India’s game against New Zealand in Dharamsala on October 22. “You have to see different skills on display as well. If you wanted to only see fours and sixes being hit, then we have T20 for that. Why do we need anything else?”There are skills on display on 350 wickets also. That’s fine on that particular day. But in the first few games when it spins a little bit or something happens that brings the bowlers into the game, and you start rating pitches as average, where does it leave the bowlers? Why are they coming then? Play two T20 matches then. We need to have a better way of deciding what is good or average.”Dharamsala outfield rated “average”The ICC was largely satisfied with the nature of outfields, except the one in Dharamsala which was rated “average” for four out of the five games it hosted. During the tournament, a number of players had criticised the outfield. The main issue centred around the venue’s patchy grass and sandy base, which prevented players from diving freely, posing an injury threat if they did attempt it.Earlier in the year, an India vs Australia Test match was moved out of Dharamsala at short notice owing to the outfield’s condition.The outfield for the last of Dharamsala’s five World Cup games, between Australia and New Zealand on October 28, received a “very good” rating.The only other venue to receive an “average” outfield rating was the MCA Stadium in Pune, for the India vs Bangladesh fixture on October 19.

وكانت تقارير صحفية قد أفادت أن محمد صلاح سيغيب عن مباريات ليفربول، طوال فترة مشاركته في كأس الأمم الإفريقية.

وسئل سلوت في المؤتمر الصحفي عن التعاقد مع جيريمي فريمبونج وإمكانية غياب صلاح عن الفريق بسبب كأس أمم إفريقيا فأجاب: “لقد فكرنا بالتأكيد في كأس الأمم الإفريقية”.

وأضاف: “هذا أحد أسباب ضمنا لفريمبونج لأنه يجيد اللعب كجناح أيمن، سنلعب 6 مباريات كحد أقصى بدون محمد صلاح وهذا كثير في الدوري الإنجليزي، خاصة بعد أدائه الرائع الموسم الماضي”.

واسترسل: “كان التعاقد مع فريمبونج لأسباب عديدة، أحدها أنه يستطيع تعويض محمد صلاح في حال غيابه”.

وشدد: “هناك خيارات أخرى متاحة لي لتعويض محمد صلاح، ولكن جيريمي هو بالتأكيد أحدها”.

وحول جاهزية ألكسيس ماك أليستر لمواجهة الدرع الخيرية: “سيكون ضمن قائمة الفريق، غاب عنا لشهرين أو أكثر، تدرب معنا ولعب 30 دقيقة أو 45 دقيقة ومن الممكن أن يبدأ أساسياً ولكن ليس 90 دقيقة”.

وعن إمكانية الاعتماد على إندو وجرافينبيرش كقلوب دفاع: “يمكنهم اللعب هناك وكذلك جو جوميز الذي لديه إصابة طفيفة وتوجد العديد من الخيارات في هذا المركز”.
