Chelsea are now open to selling a 2023 summer signing just under one year after he put pen to paper on a move to Stamford Bridge, as the west Londoners look to trim their bloated squad as well as acquire upgrades.

Gallagher is set to be the most headline-grabbing name of the aforementioned group, especially given his importance under Mauricio Pochettino last season. The 24-year-old, who was rewarded for his fine form with a place in Gareth Southgate's Euro 2024 England squad, became a Chelsea mainstay and supporters are keen not to see the boyhood supporter depart.

His contract expires next year, though, and with no extension in sight, Chelsea may have to make the ruthless business decision of finding a buyer for him this summer – or risk seeing him leave for nothing in 2025.

The likes of Lukaku, Broja, Maatsen, Sarr and Arrizabalaga appear out of favour at the club, so decisions on their futures will be much easier, but there are reports that Chelsea are open to offers for Chalobah despite the Englishman's re-emergence at the end of last season.

Pretty soon, a few of these players could join Thiago Silva in leaving Chelsea in the coming weeks, and it is believed that 2023 arrivals are not excluded from the chopping block. There have been suggestions that Chelsea want to attract bids for David Datro Fofana, who only joined last January from Molde.

Chelsea apparently don't need to sell players by June 30 of this year to avoid PSR sanctions, but they do need to sell in preparation for the June 30 deadline next year.

“We’re likely to see departures at Chelsea this summer, particularly with the players who are currently out on loan," said Fabrizio Romano to GiveMeSport.

“As previously reported, the plan is for Armando Broja to be sold once he comes back from his loan at Fulham, and Hakim Ziyech can already be considered to have played his last game for Chelsea.

“I also expect Romelu Lukaku and Ian Maatsen to leave Chelsea, but for the others, we have to wait and see what happens.”

Chelsea open to selling Lesley Ugochukwu

Now, alongside the likes of Fofana, it is believed midfielder Lesley Ugochuwku is being nominated for the transfer list.

The 20-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Rennes last summer and signed a seven-year contract, made 12 Premier League appearances last term. The Blues could send him out on a temporary deal to accumulate more game time, but journalist Simon Phillips also claims Chelsea are open to completely selling Ugochukwu for the right offer.

Less than 12 months into his long-term deal, it would be an unceremonious end for the Frenchman, especially after praise from Chelsea chiefs last year. Pochettino called Ugochukwu a "talented" player, while co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley called him "impressive" (via The Metro).

The conversation around BLM appears to have shifted from collective to individual action, which Rabada remains in favour of. During the IPL, he spoke about the responsibility that high-profile people, including sportsmen, have to raise awareness over social issues and he reiterated that belief.”It is important, especially if you have a platform like you do as a sportsman – spreading the right message is important. It doesn’t mean anyone should go out of their way to do it but if you would like to, it’s important to spread the right message,” Rabada said. “There is huge responsibility in the things you say and the things you stand up for. We’ve seen the roles sportsmen had to play in all the political movements that were happening during the lockdown. I expressed my opinion on Twitter, and on some podcasts that we did but I am not getting into it too hectically. I am not writing essays about it, I am not writing a doctorate about it but I threw my two cents out.”When asked whether he thought the debate needed to move from whether a team should take a knee as a symbolic gesture, to whether they could better tackle racism in practical ways because repeated taking of a knee diminishes its significance, Rabada said he would “need to think about it”.

Chelsea's outlay totals around £105 million already, just three weeks into the transfer window, but a succession of players have left to help balance the books. Thiago Silva, Hakim Ziyech, Lewis Hall, Omari Hutchinson and Ian Maatsen all departed Stamford Bridge recently for a combined fee of around £84 million, taking Todd Boehly's net spend to just £21 million.

Bearing this in mind, Chelsea appear in pretty good stead for next year's PSR deadline, depending on what happens in the next few weeks. The Blues are involved in a public race with Arsenal to sign Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, who impressed at Euro 2024 with Italy and helped guide his club to a place in the Champions League next season.

TEAMtalk claimed this week that Chelsea are set to submit a rival bid for Calafiori, who is expected to cost somewhere around the £42 million mark. Despite bringing in Tosin, the likes of Fabrizio Romano have suggested before that Chelsea could sign two centre-backs this summer.

Meanwhile, there is also the very real possibility that they will back new manager Enzo Maresca with forward additions and more of world football's brightest talents.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has entered the final 12 months of his contract and started just eight Premier League games last season, having lost his mainstay status in the team. Meanwhile, it's been reported that Giovani Lo Celso has no future at Tottenham and could be sold alongside Hojbjerg. Much like the Dane, Lo Celso struggled for opportunities under Postecoglou last season, starting just four league matches with 18 of his 22 appearances coming off the bench.

The uncertainty surrounding both of their futures has prompted many links to a new central midfielder. Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea star Conor Gallagher for the best part of a year, and that interest is rumoured to still be there.

Postecoglou is a real admirer of Gallagher, according to some reports, but a move for the Euro 2024 England international could be a tricky one to pull off due to Chelsea's rumoured £50 million valuation. They're targeting alternatives to the 24-year-old, with Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana attracting interest from Tottenham amid claims he'd cost around £25 million.

Another midfield man who the Lilywhites are targeting is Aston Villa starlet Jacob Ramsey. Various media sources have backed that Spurs had a player-plus-cash bid for Ramsey rejected recently, with the proposal being £20 million and Lo Celso.

Postecoglou green-lights Ramsey move as Lange drives Spurs deal

According to reliable football.london journalist Alasdair Gold, Postecoglou has green-lit a move for Ramsey and Lange is driving Tottenham's pursuit. Gold also backs that Spurs would have attempted to use Lo Celso as a makeweight in any proposed transfer for the 23-year-old, but as of now, the Villans are unlikely to sell him.

Other reliable media sources claim Unai Emery's side value Ramsey at around £50 million, which is no surprise given his sky-high potential.

وجه أسطورة منتخب الأرجنتين ونجم ريال مدريد السابق، أنخيل دي ماريا، رسالة إلى صفقة الفريق الملكي الجديدة ، وذلك قبل بداية الموسم للميرنجي خلال الفترة المقبلة.

ريال مدريد سوف يفتتح سجل مواجهاته بشكل رسمي هذا الموسم في بطولة الدوري الإسباني يوم غدًا الثلاثاء، إذ يلتقي مع نظيره أوساسونا خارج أرضه في تمام الساعة العاشرة مساءًا بتوقيت القاهرة.
